Instead
of the usual activity of writing about or having students stand up and share
what they did over the summer or over a break shake things up. Have students
write a Thank You Note to the person responsible for providing the fun. That person
might be the a parent, grandparent, camp counselor, etc.
This could be a good way to teach/reteach students how to address and write a proper letter. Budget time accordingly :)
You might then want to have the class share their thank you letters as a way of sharing their summer memories.
