Our Advisory Purpose
Our Advisory Program is set up to connect our
students to our school, to each other, and to the teachers through their
Advisor. The Advisor acts as the point person for the students of their
advisory. They are those students' advocates.
Advisors strive to develop relationships between students
and teachers by organizing community building activities within their own
advisory and together with all members of the grade level and middle school
community. These connections are important building blocks in establishing
friendships and learning to work cooperatively in academic team activities. This
time is also used to distribute important information ad to organize school activities.
Our Advisory is responsible for
·
Promoting opportunities for social/ emotional
development
·
Assisting students with academic problems
·
Facilitating positive involvement between and among
teachers and administrators and students
·
Providing an adult advocate for each student in the
school
·
Promoting positive school climate
