Digital Citizenship: Who will you be?

Every time we go online we have a choice of what type of digital citizen we are going to be; positive or negative. Show this short video and then lead a class discussion with these open questions. Of course, feel free to generate questions of your own.

·         Has anyone heard of netiquette?

·         Are all of your Facebook Posts positive? Have you read some that can possibly negatively effect someone else?

·         Why might an anonymous poster feel bold enough to write negative or insulting comment on a someone’s blog site

·         A woman is paying for her groceries while talking on the phone to her husband about picking up the kids. The clerk rings her out and she is on her way. Is that just the way our society is or is it disrespectful? Would it have been disrespectful for the clerk to interrupt her call?

·         If you are texting or skyping is it private?

·         How would you email a teacher as opposed to a friend?

·         If you take the picture do you have the right to share it online?
